Each December, the brokers at Windermere Real Estate/Mercer Island help brighten the holidays of local children. The Windermere office is matched to families needing assistance through a program administered by Mercer Island Youth and Family Services.

We are so blessed, and this is a special time of year when we can share our good fortune with others who need a hand up. Our team has so much fun shopping for the children’s “wish list” items and packaging them together with grocery gift cards and special extras. It starts off the holiday season every year…in the best possible way!

Adopt-a-Family With Bellevue Commons

1-Adopt a Family 2011_b WEB

Over the next week, Windermere Bellevue Commons partners up with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bellevue for their Adopt-a-Family campaign. This is their fourth year participating, and last year the program benefitted approximately 200 children!

On December 4th, they start their group shopping day where about 20 agents shop together for the children. Some agents can even adopt a family on their own to shop with their own family to experience the giving spirit. Then they have a group wrapping party early next week and on December 11th, they go deliver the gifts. We can’t wait to see all the presents they deliver to the families this year!

UPDATE: This year, they wrapped and donated gifts for 25 kids and 13 families!

Thanks for participating and giving back to your community, Windermere Bellevue Commons!

Woodinville Benefits The Forgotten Children’s Fund

photo 1Windermere Woodinville hosted its free Santa photo event benefitting The Forgotten Children’s Fund this last Friday, December 5th. This was their seventh year doing the event and every year is special! Anyone can come in for the evening to get free pictures with Santa, enjoy beverages and snacks, and sit by the fire. Besides seeing jolly ol’ St. Nick, visitors are also invited to bring toy or money donations for The Forgotten Children’s Fund.

This year, around 97 families stopped by for pictures with Santa and they collected around $2,000 for donation! What a festive and special event!
